A total of 823 patients with cold sores who had been prescribed Valtrex had their cold sores treated with Valtrex at an inpatient pharmacy in Ontario, Canada. We included patients who had a total of 28 active cold sores. The most commonly used treatment was Valtrex. The treatment was also used by patients who had cold sores who had their cold sores treated at a private, non-profit, outpatient facility. Patients who had their cold sores treated at an inpatient pharmacy who were prescribed Valtrex had their cold sores treated at an inpatient pharmacy in Ontario.
